Samsung releases web browser for its Gear VR headset
Samsung Internet for Gear VR is a web browser optimized for Samsung's virtual reality headset, Gear VR.The web browser will allow users to browse the web and view the content without having to download the content on their smartphones.
The web browser supports both 360-degree and 3D video streaming, as well as any HTML5 video from the web, offering users to enjoy video in a full immersive environment. It also provides voice recognition along with on-screen keyboard. There is also a Gaze Mode, which allows users to select menu by simply gazing. Users can also import bookmarks from the mobile web browser, Samsung Internet for Android, and offers features such as Quick access, Bookmarks and Tab Manager.
It supports Samsung devices including Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note5 with Gear VR.
Samsung Internet for Gear VR beta version will be available for download in the Oculus Store starting today.
