Windows 10 Mobile ROM now available for Xiaomi Mi 4 LTE version

The Windows 10 Mobile ROM is now available for Xiaomi Mi 4 smartphone. The ROM allows Mi 4 owners to run a fully functional Windows 10 Mobile build on their device.

The ROM can now be flashed to Xiaomi Mi 4 using a tool that Microsoft has provided. Once installed, the ROM overrides Android and turns the phone into a fully function Windows 10 Mobile device. If at any stage users want to comeback to MIUI, they can do so by reflashing it.

However, there is a catch, the ROM is available only for the LET-enabled variant of the Mi 4, which means the Mi 4W, which is widely used in many countries including India, is not supported. Microsoft also points out that there might be undiscovered bugs in the OS, so users should flash the ROM at their own risk. As the ROM is only supported on Mi 4 LTE variant, testing on other devices is not advisable.

The Public release of Windows 10 Mobile for Mi 4 comes nine months after Microsoft partnered with Xiaomi, to beta test Windows 10 Mobile on Mi 4 handsets.
