Camera-centric Oppo F1 launching this month, spotted on Taiwan's NCC
Chinese smartphone brand Oppo has announced that it will launch a new 'F-series', smartphone, where the focus will be on camera. The first smartphone under the F series the 'F1' will release later this month and will be launched in a wide range of global markets. According to OPPO the devices in the series will have "impressive specs, eye-catching style and amazing prices."
"The F series is rooted in a growing global demand for premium-quality mobile photography experiences, and in research that has indicated a strong consumer recognition that OPPO shoots great photos," the press release said.
Oppo has released a teaser, which shows a smartphone with slim metal frame. The specifications of the F1 are yet to be revealed. However, from the teaser image, it appears that Oppo F1 could be the international variant of Oppo A53, which was released for China in December.
If this is true, the F1 would feature 13-megapixel rear camera with Samsung ISOCELL sensor and LED flash, and 5-megapixel front snapper. Other features include 5.5-inch 720p display, Snapdragon 616 SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage, hybrid dual SIM slot (SIM + SIM or SIM + microSD card) and 3075mAh battery with fast charge support.
The Oppo F1, with a A53 design, has also been certified by Taiwan's NCC (National Communications Commission), (Via) receiving certification for WiFi, 4G LTE and Bluetooth. The design language appears similar to that of A53, indicating that the Oppo F1 could be the international variant of the A53.
