DataWind launches PocketSurfer 2G4X, 3G4Z entry level smartphones

Datawind, known more as the company behind the low-cost Akash tablet has launched to entry level smartphones in India - PocketSurfer 2G4X and PocketSurfer 3G4Z. The come bundled with unlimited internet browsing for one year for Reliance and Telenor subscribers.

The DataWind PocketSurfer 2G4X features 3.5-inch 320 x 480 display and is equipped with 1GHz Cortex A5 processor with 256GB RAM and 512MB storage, which can be further increased to 32GB via microSD card. It runs the dated Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and sports 0.3-megapixel VGA front and rear facing camera. The dual SIM phone supports 2G EDGE, WiFi and Bluetooth.

DataWind PocketSurfer 3G4Z is a 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) smartphone powered by 1GHz A7 processor with 512MB RAM, 4GB expandable storage (up to 32GB), 5-megapixel rear camera w/ LED flash and VGA front camera. The dual SIM phone runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat and supports 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth and aGPS connectivity.

The DataWind PocketSurfer 2G4X and the PocketSurfer 3G4Z are priced at Rs. 2,499 and Rs. 3,999 accordingly.
