Nikon charges into action camera segment with the KeyMission 360
Nikon known for it compact as well as DSLR camera has forayed in to action camera market, which is dominated by Go Pro and populated by the likes of Xiaomi, Sony, Polaroid to name a few. Called KeyMission 360, it is a rugged, waterproof action camera that is capable of taking 360 degree videos in 4K.
The KeyMission 360 features an image sensor and camera lenses on opposite sides and combines images from each of these cameras to create a single realistic, high-definition 360 degree video or still image. It features electronic vibration reduction (enabled via an app) to reduce the effects of camera shake while shooting.
There is support for WiFi, Bluetooth and NFC connectivity. The camer is waterproof to depths of 30 meters and is rugged enough to withstand dust, schocks and low temperatures making it the perfect companion to accompany you during adventures.
Other features including storage, battery, pricing are not known, but Nikon says that the KeyMission 360 will be released later this year. Unfortunately no time-frame was mentioned.
