Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 edge to be unveiled on February 21


The latest  information to surface online of the Samsung's Galaxy S7 range is the launch date. Credible leakster Evan Blass (@evleaks), on his twitter account has posted a teaser, what appears to be an invite for Samsung's press conference, which will be held a day before MWC kicks off. 

As per the teaser, the date is set for February 21 for the #TheNextGalaxy event. It is safe to assume that Samsung's will announce the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge at event. For reference, the MWC will take place from February 22 - 25.

Evan Blass has already revealed most of the details including possible renders of the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge. The date on the smartphone's display in the render was also February 21 adding weight to the leaked teaser. However, it is advised to take these rumors with a pinch of salt until Samsung officially announce the devices.

Rumor suggests that the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will have a design language same as last year's Galaxy S6 and S6 edge, plus they will comes with significant improvements over them. The microSD card slot is making a come back, which was omitted in Samsung Galaxy flasgship range in 2015 (Galaxy S6, S6 edge, S6 edge+ / note5) and the flagships will be IP67 rated for water and dust resistance.

The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge will have 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch screen  accordingly and will sport Super AMOLED displays at QHD resolution. They will be powered by Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 SoC, depending on the market and come with 4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB storage. For photography they will be equipped with 12-megapixel rear camera with large sensors and f/1.7 aperture. Front facing camera is 5-megapixel. They will also pack larger batteries. The Galaxy S7 and S7 edge batteries will be bumped to 3000mAH (up from 2550mAh) and 3600mAh (up for 2600mAh) respectively.
