Instagram extends its video length limit to 60 seconds

With the number of Instagram users on the rise around the world, the popular Facebook-owned image sharing service is about to make video sharing a lot more interesting.

Until now you were able to record and share 15 seconds video in Instagram. Now Instagram has extended the video length limit to 60 seconds. The feature will be available for some users starting today and will roll out to all in the coming months.

"In the last six months, the time people spent watching video increased by more than 40 percent. And longer videos mean more diverse stories from the accounts you love" said Instagram.

In addition to extending its video length, Instagram is also giving users the ability to make videos out of multiple clips from their camera roll, and with the addition of 60 second time limit, you get the opportunity to show your creative side. The Muli-clip video feature will be available for iOS this week as part of Instagram for iOS version 7.19.

Instagram also said that these changes were just "one step of many you'll see this year", so we can expect more improvements to the image sharing service in the coming months.
