Nixon Mission is a rugged Android Wear smartwatch for surfers


Premium watch and accessories brand Nixon has announced Mission, a rugged Android Wear smartwatch powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 2100 SoC.

The Mission smartwatch is aimed at adventure enthusiasts for sports like surfing, snowboarding and sking. It also comes equipped with a suite of software powered by Surfline and Snocountry, which offer real-time condition information for the aforementioned activities.

The Mission sports a 1.39-inch 400 x 400 AMOLED display with a layer of Gorilla Glass making it sturdy and rugged, and packs 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. It is encased in a 48mm poly-carbonate case and has 316L surgical grade stainless steel raised bezel. It has 10-ATM water resistance rating capable of holding up to 100 meters.

The smartwatch is compatible with Android smartphones running Android 4.2 and higher, or iPhone running iOS 8.2 or higher. It also comes pre-loaded with Nixon exclusive Mission and Trace apps.

Nixon's Mission comes with over 20 band options and more than 15 bezel choices including Cerakote, stainless steel, gunmetal, gold and more.  It will be available in October and is expected to be priced at around $400. Nixon is also offering customization options for the watch through Nixon.com.
