Samsung India schedules March 31 event, Galaxy J3 2016 expected
Samsung has scheduled an even t in India on March 31, where the launch of Galaxy J3 is expected. The event invite reads "The smartphone will change the way you ride" with hashtag #TapKickVroom, which indicates that the phone will be targeted at motorcycle riders.
According to media reports the the Indian market will get a modified version of J3 with a feature called Bike Mode. This Mode will enable 'Do Not Disturb' mode to disable any incoming notifications for calls, texts, emails and more. This will let bikers concentrate on their riding and not get distracted.
Samsung has also released an ad featuring bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor holding a Samung phone in one hand while clinging on a bike helmet with other. Samsung is also running a contest where three lucky winners (selected through a lucky draw) stand a chance to get the phone for free.
To recap, the Galaxy J3 was initially launched in China last year, and made its way to the U.S in the beginning of this year, It was priced at $179.99 (Rs. 12,000). The Galaxy J3 comes with a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, Snapdragon 410 SoC, 1.5GB RAM, 8GB inbuilt expandable storage, 5MP rear and 2MP front camera. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop and is fueled by 2600mAh battery.
