Moto G 2015 gets Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update
Motorola updates its Moto G 2015 to Android 6.0 Marshmallow in India in December last year. Now the company has started rolling out Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the phone in the country. Recently Moto X Play also had received the same update. The new update brings a couple of bug fixes and new features.
After your Moto G 2015 is update, you'll be able to launch the camera by double pressing the power button, and can also turn on or off the sound of camera shutter. The update also brings enhanced system stability, several bug fixes and improved performance. It also includes Android security patches for the month of March.
The Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update for the Moto G 2015 weighs 370MB in size, and is being rolled out over the air (OTA). If you've not yet been notified of the update you can do a manual check by going to Settings > About Phone > System and select Yes I'm in, and select the required download option. Make sure to back up your phone data before updating, in case things go south at the time of update.
Motorola is also expected to push the same update for older Moto G handsets and Moto X Style in the coming weeks.
