Acer Aspire Switch Alpha 12 S surfaces, to feature Core i processor, pen support


At CES 2016, Acer launched Aspire Switch 12 S, a powerful Windows 10 tablet/laptop hybrid with 12.5-inch display and Intel Core M Skylake processor. Now, Acer has another model of Switch 12 S on the way, dubbed Aspire Switch Alpha 12 S with more powerful processor, built-in kickstand and digital pen support. A couple of press images and hardware specifications of the laptop has surfaced online.

The Acer Aspire Swicth Alpha 12 S will have a 12-inch display, and according to leaked details, it will be equipped with 6th generation Intel Core i-series Skylake processors (such as Core i5-6200U), 4GB RAM, 128GB storage, Full sized USB 3.0 and USB Type-C port. It will have front and rear camera, with the option of Intel's RealSense 3D camera.

Design-wise the laptop will sport brushed anodized aluminum on the outside, and to keep things cool inside there will be thermal liquid cooling. It will run Windows 10, and includes active digitizer Acer pen support and detachable keyboard. On the left side of the keyboard, there appears to be a flip to attach the Acer Pen.

Currently, there is no word on the price and availability details of the Aspire Switch Alpha 12 S. But Acer has scheduled an event for April 21, where the company is expected to update its product line up, so it is like the Aspire Switch 12 S to make an appearance.
