Facebook Messenger app can now be your digital boarding pass on KLM flights


Facebook has teamed up with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, where the air travelers will receive all the travel related information, including boarding pass directly on the Messenger app.

KLM Royal Dutch Airline passengers will be able to check-in, get flight updates, make travel changes and talk to KLM support staff within the Facebook Messenger app. Currently the service is live in 140 destinations around the world where both KLM and Messenger operate.


In order to get flight related information, travelers at the time of booking ticket online will have to choose to receive info via Messenger app on KLM website. Once the ticket booking is confirmed, the airline will send you itinerary, boarding pass, check-in confirmation and flight status through the Messenger app. Passengers will also be able to get through security and onto their flight with the digital boarding pass.

The service will starting to roll out today and will be more widely available around the world in the coming  and weeks. In addition to KLM, Facebook also plans to add more airline partners in the near future.
