Microsoft introduces luxurious Signature Type Cover for Surface Pro


Microsoft has introduced a new Signature Type-C Cover for the Surface Pro 4 and Surface Pro 3 tablets. The case crafted using two-tone gray melange Alcantara fabric, a unique material used in high-end luxury products including fashion, automotive, and interiors and is sourced exclusively  in Italy.

Microsoft said that  "Alcantara material ages beautifully, growing richer and darker over time and is wonderfully soft to touch.". The company also said that Each Signature Type Cover takes five weeks to produce "as the material is extruded and crimped, needle-punched and dyed." 

The new cover does not add any new functionality or feature, but is designed to look luxurious. It has the same magnetic interface to attach it to the tablet, spaced keys and a large glass trackpad similar to the original Type Cover. measures 295mm x 217mm x 4.65mm and weighs 285g.

The Microsoft Signature Type Cover is priced at $159.99 (Rs. 10,600) and is available through Microsoft stores at select retailers in the U.S, Australia, Austria, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Swizterland and UK. To compare the price, the standard Type cover costs $129.99.
