Next gen Apple Watch will reportedly have cellular connectivity
According to a report published on Wall Street Journal, the next-gen Apple Watch will be more powerful and have more functionality than its predecessor. The publication, citing a person familiar with the matter, reports that the second-gen Apple Watch will have a cellular connectivity, and as a result will allow it to function independently, without the need of an iPhone.
Once Apple Watch gets cellular connectivity support, users will not have to carry their iPhones with them for the wearable to work. In addition, the next gen Apple Watch will also be equipped with a more powerful processor than its predecessor, so you can expect the apps to load much faster on Apple Watch 2, compared to the Apple Watch.
The report citing analysts also claim the Apple has sold over 12 million Apple Watch units in the first year. The next gen Apple Watch is expected to be showcased at WWDC conference in June this year, and launch at Apple's September event.
