Xiaomi Max rumored to ship with in-house Rifle SoC, MIUI 8; possible specs are out

Xiaomi's upcoming phablet the Mi Max, a couple of days back surfaced in render image and now a few more details including teaser image, possible specs (via GFXbench) have surfaced online. The teaser image shows that the Mi Max will have big screen (rumored to be 6.4) and despite that, it will be able to fit inside a pocket. The Mi Max in the image has a design similar to Mi 5, which is line with what the render revealed.

Meanwhile, possible specs of Xiaomi Mi Max was outed by GFXBench, which reveals that the phablet will have mid-range specs. As per GFX bench, the Xiaomi Max will sports a 6.4-inch 1080p display and powered by Snapdragon 650 SoC, which refutes earlier claims that the phone will be equipped with Snapdragon 820 SoC. The SoC will be backed by Adreno 510 GPU for graphics, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The camera department gets a 16-megapixel rear snapper and 5-megapixel selfie camera. It will run MIUI based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

In addition, rumors coming out of China, suggests that the Xiaomi Mi Max will be equipped with Xiaomi's own SoC named rifle. Xiaomi has reportedly teamed up with Datang Corporation to develop the SoC. The rumor also claims that the phablet will run MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Since nothing is official, do take the possible specs and rumors of Mi Max with a pinch of salt.

Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Mi Max in May.
