A new report coming out of China suggests the Xiaomi has plans to launch its first smartwatch alongside the Mi Band 2 in Q2 2016. The new details comes from Xiaomi's Mi Ecosystem partner Hunami Technology.
In an interview with Chinese website, Hunami Technology's CEO, Wang who worked with Xiaomi on the Mi Band said that the company will manufacture both the smartwatch and next-gen Mi Band. Both will be released within the next two months.
The report says the next generation Mi Band will have a small display and with the addition of display, the wearable will reduce its dependence on connected smartphone. To recall, the Mi Band had a removal tracking module. The report adds that the display will be the highlight feature of the new Mi Band. Considering that the next gen Mi Band will have major improvements over its predecessor, the report says the it will be priced higher.
