ZTE Axon 2 with Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM gets TENAA approval


China based ZTE's Axon brand was introduced last year targeted at international market, and since than the brand has introduced several Axon models ranging from compact Axon Mini to the bigger Axon Max, and an Axon branded smartwatch. Now the brand is set to launch the next wave of Axon series devices.

An Axon smartphone with model number A2017, reportedly called Axon 2/Axon 2 Pro has been certified by China's TENAA outing the specs and images of the phone. Design-wise, the Axon 2 will have a design similar to the current Axon models, but the dual camera setup is gone, and is replaced by a single camera unit, flash module and fingerprint scanner.

According to TENAA the ZTE Axon 2 (A2017) will come with 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt expandable storage, 20MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, 4G LTE, NFC, USB Type-C and a 3140mAh battery. It will run Android Marshmallow v6.0.1 and includes a fingerprint scanner on the back.

The ZTE Axon will come in Gold color only, and since it has been certified by TENAA, an announcement can be expected soon.
