OnePlus launches Loop VR headset for OnePlus 3 VR launch

OnePlus launched the OnePlus 2 flagship in July last year in a virtual reality event. This year the company will also hold a similar event to launch its next flagship, the OnePlus 3. OnePlus CEO Carl Pei today announced that the OnePlus 3 will be unveiled in a VR launch event, which will be fully interactive and immersive.

The OnePlus 3 will be introduced inside a virtual space station called Loop , and the company claims that the OnePlus 3 launch will be the world's first global shipping experience in VR, which means you'll be able to order the OnePlus 3 within The Loop.

For the OnePlus 2 launch, the company released a limited number of free cardboard headsets, however this time, OnePlus has teamed up with AntVR to introduce the Loop VR headset.

OnePlus says that the new VR headset offers an improved, more immersive and comfortable VR experience, when compared to the cardboard VR headset. It also features a head strap and snug-inner padding that make it more convenient. It also fits comfortably over glasses.

The Loop VR headset has Orthoscopic lenses, 100-degree field of view and fits smartphones with screen sized of 5-inch or 6-inch. For distortion-free field of view, the lenses can be fine-tuned for perfect focus.

OnePlus is offering free Loop VR headset (30,000 headsets only) for U.S customers, which can be purchased from the company website. For India, the VR headset will be available via flash sale on Amazon India for Re. 1 (plus shipping cost) on June 3 and June 7. OnePlus is yet to reveal the launch date of OnePlus 3, but the company earlier said that it will happen before the end of June.
