Lenovo PHAB 2, dual-camera equipped PHAB 2 Plus affordable phablets announced


Lenovo at its Tech World event announced the PHAB 2 and PHAB 2 Plus plus alongside the first consumer ready Tango smartphone PHAB 2 Pro. The PHAB 2 is an affordable phablet with decent specs, while the PHAB 2 Plus comes with dual-rear camera setup. Both sport metal unibody design, hybrid-dual SIM slots and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The PHAB 2 Plus comes with dual 13-megapixel rear camera with Fujitsu Milbeaut ISPs (which is used in Leica cameras), Laser AF, PDAF and LED flash. The rear camera offers features such as refocus, background swap, extreme manual settings and AR special affects. The front facing camera is 8-megapixel and features f/2.2 aperture and 1.4um pixel.

Coming to the other specs, the PHAB 2 Plus flaunts a 6.4-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display and powered by 1.3GHz octa-core MediaTek MT8783 processor with Mali T720 GPU, 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, which can be increased via microSD card (up to 128GB). Other feature includes fingerprint scanner, WiFi 802.11ac, 4G LTE and Dolby Atmos. It is fueled by 4050mAh battery.


The Lenovo PHAB 2 on the other hand comes with 6.4-inch HD (1280 x 720 pixels) IPS display and is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8735 processor backed by Mali T720 GPU and 3GB RAM. On-baord storage is 32GB, which can be further expanded via inserting microSD card (up to 128GB).

The camera department gets 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, PDAF and 5-megapixel front facing camera. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It is fueled by 4050mAh battery and comes with features Dolby Atmos, and triple array microphone.

The Lenovo PHAB 2 and PHAB 2 Plus are priced at $199 (Rs. 13,000) and $299 (Rs. 19,900) accordingly and will be available from September 2016.
