Lenovo shows off bendable smartphone for your wrist, foldable tablet
In addition to unveiling the Moto Z, Moto Z Force, Tango based PHAB 2 Pro, Lenovo at its Tech World event also showed off prototypes of two of its new innovations it is working on. These include a flexible smartphone called C Plus, and a foldable tablet called Folio.
The C Plus turns into a wearable device when it is wrapped around the wrist like a bracelet thanks to the flexible screen. It comes in large and small sizes in-order to fit all wrist sizes to be suitable. It features 4.26-inch flexible display, runs Android and will come in 12 different colors. The Folio on the other hand is a foldable tablet than can be folded into half to function as a smartphone. Lenovo did not reveal any other details.
It's worth noting that Samsung is also working on similar products under Project Valley and plans to show it in 2017.
Lenovo said that the CPlus and Folio prototypes highlight how flexible screens and components can allow dual-devices and multiple usage scenarios. They devices are still in development stage, so don't expect the commercial launch to happen too soon.
