Rumor: Google building live support app with screen sharing for Nexus devices; Android N to have redesigned home/navigation keys
If a new report is to be believed, Google is working on live support app with screen-sharing functionality for Nexus devices.
Android Police reports that Google might soon add a new feature to Nexus line-up that will let Nexus device owners to share their device's screens directly with after sales support agent for solving an issue. Android Police notes that the app could have live audio or chat support, and the support team representative will be able to control, draw or highlight the screen, however these are speculations.
The app is said to be in dogfooding stage and is currently called 'Google Support', which is not the final product name.
Google provides support for Nexus devices only, and if Google Support app is really in the works, we can expect the app's functionality to be limited to Nexus devices only and make its debut with the HTC made Nexus phones later this year.
In related, Android N is rumored to come with new home and navigation buttons (shown in mock-up image on top). As seen above, the three navigation keys have the same geometrical form as before, but the home button is surrounded by blue, red, green, yellow colors. The home keys will animate when long pressed. It's not yet clear whether the new home button will be available only on Nexus devices, or other handsets that will run Stock Android N.
