TRAI makes it easier to get rid of pesky telemarketing calls and SMS

TRAI (Telecom Authority of India) has released a new app called DND (Do-not-Disturb) Services that will make it easier to file complaint to your service provider if you receive Unsolicited Commercial Communication (UCC), and pesky telemarketing calls and SMS', even after you have registered for DND.

The app also lets you register or de-register from DND and check registration status and status of lodged complaints for calls and SMS. Some of the feature in app will require internet connection, but most of them will be handled via SMS.

Once you open the app, you can select DND for a particular categorgy like education, banking/insurance/credit cards, health and consumer good and more. The are icons to register a complaint, check status of UCC and complain via call.

Unfortunately, the app doesn't work with dual-SIM phone, since it detects only the primary SIM card.

The DND Services app is now available to download from Google Play Store and Mobile Seva App Store. It will also be available for iOS devices soon.
