6.6-inch Honor phablet with QHD display, 4400mAh battery gets certified by TENAA

Huawei's sub-brand Honor has launched a couple of smartphones this year including Honor V8 (w/dual rear cameras), Honor 5A and Honor 5C. The brand will launch a new phone, the Honor 8 on July 11 and the handset has already received TENAA approval.

Now ahead of the launch event another Honor handset with a massive 6.6-inch display has been certified by TENAA. It is not known, whether the 6.6-inch phablet, which has no name yet, will be released on July 11, but the specs and design of it are no secret.

As per TENAA, the 6.6-inch Honor phablet carries the model number EDI-DL00 and packs top hardware. It comes with a QHD (2560 x 1440) OLED screen, octa-core Kirin 950 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt expandable storage, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint scanner, Android Marshmallow, 4G LTE w/ VoLTE and 4400mAh battery with fast charge support. The phablet will have 7.18mm thin metal body and weigh 219g.

Interestingly the model number of the 6.6-inch phablet, 'EDI' does not correspond to any previous Honor device's model number, so there's a chance that the phablet will be introduced under a new series. However, there is no confirmation yet, so we'll have to wait till July 11 (if Honor plans to release) for all the official details.
