BlackBerry Neon/Hamburg/DTEK50 official press render and specs leaked
BlackBerry, after foraying into Android with the Priv, is all set to unveil its second Android smartphone called Neon (or DTEK50 as per FCC, or Hamburg). Now the specs and render of Neon are out.
Earlier reports had suggested that BlackBerry Neon will be a rebranded Alcatel Idol 4s, and this was confirmed by FCC, which revealed its manufacturer to be TCL the same company behind Alcatel phones. The new photo also confirms the same. The BlackBerry Neon design is almost identical to Alactel's Idol 4s, with minor changes.
As for the specs, unlike Priv, BlackBerry's second Android offering, the Neon will offer mid-range specs. The BlackBerry Neon will have a 5.2-inch Full HD display, Snapdragon 617 processor, 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and microSD card slot for storage expansion. For photography and selfies it offers 13-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera. It runs Android Marshmallow and will be fueled by 2610mAh battery and support Quick Charge 2.0.
Just like the Priv, BlackBerry Neon will come pre-loaded with BlackBerry Hub, DTEK, Password Keeper, BBM, BlackBerry Calendar and more.
Currently, it's not known when BlackBerry will announce Neon, but we can expect that to happen anytime soon.
