Google Play Music, YouTube Red may soon land in India
After a long wait, Google's music streaming app, Google Play Music might finally make its way to India. A couple of Reddit users are able play selected songs from the catalogue in the web version of the app, revealing prices in INR for some popular tracks and albums. However, only a couple of features can only be accessed.
As per the listing, a single track is priced Rs. 15, while an entire album is priced between Rs. 95 and Rs. 175.
Apart from Play Music service, Google is also expected to launch its YouTube Red service in the country as well. Another Reddit user posted a screenshot showing a notification explaining the 'Background Play' feature in the YouTube Red App. YouTube Red is a premium subscription, that offers ad-free experience, with the ability to save video offline, as well as play videos in the background. It was launched in October last year.
Currently there it is not known, when Google plans to launch the Google Play Music and YouTube Red subscription based services in India.
