Moto X 2016 with 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, dual rear cameras spotted on GFXBench

After Motorola (owned by Lenovo) announced the Moto Z series with modular backplates, many thought that the company is done with the Moto X series. But that was not the case, and Lenovo clarified that same, that Moto X is 'alive' and 'well', and the X and Z series would offer different experiences to users.

Later the Moto X Play 2016 was spotted on GFXBench, and now a new Moto X series smartphone with model number XT1650 speculated to be the Moto X 2016 have been spotted on the same benchmarking website.

According to the listing, the Moto X 2016 specs include 5.5-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, dual rear camera setup 12MP/20MP, 5MP front camera, and will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow. If the listing is true, the Moto X 2016 will be the first Motorola offering with dual-rear cameras.

The Moto XT1650 also surfaced on Geekbench in April with similar specs. Interestingly, the specs of Moto X 2016 are quite similar to the Moto Z series, except for the dual rear camera.

Currently, it's not known, when Motorola / Lenovo plans to unveil the Moto X 2016, but we can expect that to happen at IFA 2016.
