HP introduces the OMEN X Desktop and OMEN 17 laptop for gamers


HP has refreshed its OMEN series gaming product with two new high-end gaming machines – OMEN X Desktop and OMEN 17 laptop. HP says the new gaming products are "designed specifically for those who demand the ultimate, immersive gaming experience."

The Omen X Desktop sports an all-black cube design with a new cooling system consisting of three 120mm liquid cooling radiators and top mounted exhaust vents. It can be configured with sixth generation Intel Core i5/i7 processors, and up to dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 and AMD Radeon R9 Fury X graphics card, which support 4K display.

It is VR-ready and offers immersive 4K experiences for the most demanding AAA games.

The top end OMEN X Desktop has sixth gen Intel Core i7-6700K processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (8GB GDDR5X dedicated memory) 16GB DDR4 RAM, 2TB HDD and 256GB SSD. It houses 10 ports including 8 x USB 3.0 ports and 2 x USB 3.0 Type-C ports, and supports WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless connectivity.

The base model has Intel Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM, AMD Radeon RX 480 (4GB) , 2TB HDD and a 256GB SSD.

The OMEN X Desktop base model starts at $2100 and will be available at select US retailers on October 16. It will also be available from HP website for $1799.

You'll also be able to buy an empty OMEN X chassis as a standalone option for a do-it-yourself (DIY) PC experience. It will be priced at $600. The standalone option will have the same benefits of the tri-chamber design, but you'll have to add processor, graphics card, RAM and storage by yourself.

HP's 17-inch OMEN 17 laptop is VR-ready and comes with NVIDIA latest GeForce GTX graphics, making it on of the high performance gaming laptops in the market. The prices start from $159.99 and offers:
