HTC 10 will get Android Nougat in Q4 2016, One M9 and One A9 will follow

HTC earlier this year confirmed that the HTC 10, One A9 and One M9 will be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat. Now HTC has provided a rough timeline of when these devices will get Nougat.

Undoubtedly, HTC 10 will be the first to get Android 7.0 Nougat update sometime in Q4 2016. The HTC One M9 and One A9 will receive it soon after. HTC also mentioned that the unlocked versions of these three phone will be the first in the line to get Nougat, followed by the Carrier models.

Meanwhile, the announcement has left HTC's One A9 owners disappointed. Back in October 2015, when HTC launched the One A9 made a promise to release every Android update within 15 days of its roll out to Google's Nexus devices.

But that is not the case anymore, and HTC says “With the excitement around Android Nougat, we’re aligning engineering resources around our most popular flagship products where the most customers will benefit.”

The specs of HTC One A9 were nothing special, considering the price tag, but HTC's promise was supposed to make up for it. Turns out to be a marketing gimmick to sell the phone.
