Garmin announces Fenix Chronos luxury sports smartwatch
Garmin has introduced its latest luxury smartwatch dubbed Fenix Chronos with features like advanced tracking, fitness training, GPS navigation, heart-rate monitoring and more.
Similar to other fitness tracking wearables, the Fenix Chronos tracks step, sleep and calories burned. But it can also measure and record activities like running, biking, swimming, rowing, golf and more. To measure these activities it is equipped with GPS and GLONASS satellite reception, Altimeter, Barometer and Compass. It also packs Garmin's Elevate wrist heart rate technology, to monitor heart rate at wrist, instead of wearing a chest strap.
The Fenix Chronos sports a 1.2-inch Chrome display with LED backlighting and has a layer of high-strength and scratch resistant sapphire lens. It is water-proof for up to 100m thanks to the 10ATM water rating. On a single charge, the Fenix Chronos is rated to delilver up to 25 hours in UltraTech battery saver mode, up to 13 hours in GPS mode and one week in smartwatch mode.
The smartwatch connects to iOS and Android via Garmin Connect app over Bluetooth, and also offers notifications for incoming calls, texts, emails among others. Users can also download free apps, watch faces and widgets from Connect IQ store, which is built into the Connect app.
The Garmin Fenix Chronos comes in three models – one with a leather band priced at $899 (Rs. 60,000), another one with a steel band that costs $999 (Rs. 67,000), and the top model with titanium band that will set you back by $1,499 (Rs. 1,00,000). It is now available for purchase from the company website.
