Kyocera Duraforce Pro rugged phone has a built-in action camera


Kyocera, known for their rugged smartphone, has introduced the Duraforce Pro rugged phone with built-in wide view action camera in the U.S.

Similar to other Kyocera phones, the Duraforce Pro is Waterproof (IP68 - can survive up to 30 minutes, up to 2 meters deep) shockproof, drop-proof, and dustproof. It is also  Military Standard 810G rated for protection against dust, shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, blowing rain, low pressure, solar radiation, salt fog, humidity, immersion, temperature shock and icing/freezing rain.

But, Kyocera claims it to be the world's first rugged smartphone to feature a 'super wide view' action camera.

There's 13-megpixel camera on the back accomapnied by a 135-degree action camera that can shoot 1080p videos. On the front there's 5-megapixel selfie camera. The cameras boast features like underwater mode, sports mode, slow motion and time-lapse mode.

Coming to the other specs the Duraforce Pro feature 5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) display and is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon processor with 2GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage. Connectivity duties are handled by 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC and Miracast. It has a fingerprint sensor (embedded in power  button) and is fueled by 3240mAh battery with fast charging support. It runs Android Marshmallow.

The Kyocera Duraforce Pro will be available later this fall in the U.S, but there is no word on pricing.
