Lenovo will pre-load Microsoft's productivity apps on its Android devices

Lenovo's Android devices will soon come pre-loaded with Microsoft's productivity app. Both companies have inked a strategic deal for the same.

Under the deal, Lenovo will pre-load Microsoft's productivity apps including Microsoft Office, Skype and OneDrive on select products running Android. The collaboration  also includes a new patent cross-licensing agreement that covers both Lenovo and Motorola devices.

Lenovo did not reveal which of its Android devices are getting those app, but a company executive says the apps will be loaded on premium devices. The company is expected to ship millions of Android-powered devices in the next several years.

Microsoft has entered into similar deals many times before with Samsung, Xiaomi, Acer, LG, Sony, Dell and Asus, among others. However the deal with Lenovo will prove to be more beneficial for Microsoft, since Motorola comes into play as well. Lenovo and Motorola devices are hugely popular in countries like India, Brazil, U.S among others.
