Philips intros a line of health-oriented smart devices


Philips has introduced a range of health-focused smart devices, aimed at tracking various health parameters. The devices are meant for home-use and includes a watch, a blood pressure monitors, weighing scale and an ear thermometer.

All these health devices are compatible with Android and iOS, and syncs all the data collected to the HealthSuite app.

The Health Watch packs heart rate monitor, which continuously tracks heart rate, as well as resting heart rate, resting respiration rate and amount of time you’re active. It features and always on display with Gorilla Glass protection and promises four day battery life. 

It does not have a touch screen, instead, users will have to use the bezels for interaction. It can also track steps, calories, running and sleep patterns. The watch is water resistant up to 1 ATM, making it splash and rain proof.


The blood pressure monitor can measure your diastolic and systolic blood pressure, as well as heart rate. There are two versions available:  a wrist blood pressure monitor, an upper arm blood pressure monitor.

The Philip Health Watch is priced at $250, the weight scale costs $100, the upper arm blood pressure monitor is $100, the wrist blood pressure monitor is $90, and the ear thermometer is priced $60. They are available in the U.S via company website and Amazon.
