Ringing Bells to deliver 65,000 more Rs. 251 Freedom 251 smartphones


Ringing Bells, the company behind the controversial  Rs. 250 ($4) smartphone, the Freedom 251 has announced that it has started delivering 65,000 more units of the handset across the country. 

The brand is now shipping Freedom 251 in states like West Bengal, Haryana, Himachal, Bihar, Uttarakhand, New Delhi, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharasthra, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.

To recall, Noida based Ringing Bells launched the world's most affordable Android smartphone, the Freedom 251 in February for Rs. 251. The company had received over 7 crore registration for purchase of the phone, and in mid-February planned to deliver 25 lakh units of the handset before June 30.

After delay, Ringing Bells dispatched the first batch of 5,000 units last month. With the latest 65,000 units the overall shipment volume of Freedom 251 stands at 70,000 units across the country.

Last month the company announced two new budget Android phones: Elegance and Elegant, four feature phone, three power banks, and a 31.5-inch LED TV for Rs. 9,990.
