Samsung will unveil the Gear S3 on August 31
Samsung has sent out invites for its event at IFA 2016 in Berlin on 31 August, to announce a new Gear smartwatch. The event invite shows a round dial along with the caption "Talk About 3", which suggests that new Samsung smartwatch will be called Gear S3.
At last year's IFA, Samsung introduced the Gear S2, Gear S2 3G and Gear S2 classic. If reports are to believed, there will be three variants of Gear S3 namely Gear S3 Classic, Gear S3 Frontier and Gear S3 Explorer. They will run Samsung's home grown Tizen OS.
The Gear S3 smartwatch line up are expected to feature water-proof body, GPS, fitness tracking capabilities and sensors like speedometer, barometer and altimeter. The Explorer edition will reportedly feature a crown, extra buttons and changeable watch bands.
Samsung is also expected to unviel the Galaxy Tab S3 at the event. The Galaxy Tab S3 possible specs include 8-inch 1536 x 2048 AMOLED display, Snapdragon 652 SoC, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, 8MP/2MP cameras, Android Marshmallow and 4000mAh battery.
