LeEco, Coolpad launch Cool1 Dual with 13MP dual rear cameras


Back in June this year, LeEco became the largest shareholder in Coolpad with 28.9 percent stake. Now both China based company have jointly announced Cool1 Dual smartphone.

As the name suggests the Cool1 Dual has dual rear cameras, both 13-megapixel unit, which offers depth sensing with realistic bokeh, The main camera features f/2.0 aperture, phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF), dual-tone LED flash and 4K video recording support. For selfies, the phone gets an 8-megapixel front shooter with f/2.2 aperture and 80-degree wide-angle lens.

The Cool1 Dual has a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display and is powered by octa-core Snapdragon 652 processor aided by Adreno 510 GPU. It comes in three variants – 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage, 4GB RAM/ 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM/ 64GB built-in storage. Unfortunately there's no microSD card slot for expanding the storage.

The phone sports a metal unibody design and has a fingerprint scanner on the back, which can unlock it in just 0.15 seconds. It runs Android Marshmallow with EUI 5.6 on top. Connectivity duties are handled by dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE w/ VoLTE (voice over LTE), WiFi 801.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C. A 4060mAh battery keeps it running which supports fast charging.

As for the pricing the Cool1 Dual 3GB RAM/ 32GB storage model is priced at CNY 1099 ($166 | Rs. 11,000), the 4GB RAM/ 32GB storage model costs CNY 1499 ($226 | Rs. 15,000) and the 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage is priced at CNY 1699 ($256 | Rs. 17,000). The phone is up for pre-order from Coolpad website, LeMall and Jd.com, and goes on sale starting August 24. It will be available Gold, Silver and Rose Gold colors
