Sony announces September 7 PlayStation event, likely to introduce PS4 Neo
Sony has just dropped the date to showcase their upgraded Play Station 4 console. The unveiling event "PlayStation Meeting" is set for September 7 and will be held at PlayStation Theatre in New York City.
Sony's upcoming gaming console will be reportedly called PlayStation 4 Neo / PlayStation 4.5, and will have 4K support, faster processor and improved graphics to offer seamless VR experience via the company's upcoming PlayStation VR headset.
Back in June Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Andrew House said that the 4K PS4 upgrade will complement the current PlayStation 4 and confirmed that Sony will continue to sell current PS4 models, even after the release of the new PlayStation 4 Neo. He also added "All games will support the standard PS4, and we anticipate all or a very large majority of games will also support the high-end PS4."
According to rumors PlayStation 4 Neo will be priced higher than current PS4 model which costs $350.
Last month Microsoft released Xbox One S console, a slimmed down version of Xbox One. Microsoft also has a high-end Xbox model slated for 2017 release, which is internally known as Project Scorpio.
