Xiaomi Redmi 4 with metal unibody design, fingerprint scanner surfaces in live photos


Xiaomi's upcoming budget smartphone Redmi 4 has surfaced online in live photos. The photos show the front and back of the phone, and  one of the photos reveal key specifications of Redmi 4 as well.

The design of Redmi 4 is a mix of Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3s.  The phone has metal unibody with round edges and antenna lines at the top and bottom. The camera is on the back at the top centre accompanied by LED flash. Below the camera there's fingerprint scanner. The front side is similar to Redmi 3.

As seen in the photo, the Redmi 4 will feature 5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 625 SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage, microSD card slot, Android Marshmallow based MIUI 8, 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS.

The specs are in line with GFXBench, but the website revealed a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model of Redmi 4. The phone will have a 4100mAh battery.

Xiaomi is expected to launch the Redmi 4 on August 25. The rumored pricing is said to be CNY 699 (Rs. 7,000).
