Google Pixel, Chromecast Ultra press images leaked

Google is expected to unveil new Pixel smartphones and Chromecast Ultra with 4K support on October 4. Ahead of the unveiling Evan Blass has shared press images of both the devices.

First up the render of the Pixel phone show the front side of the device, and is in line with earlier leaked live photos. We can see the front facing camera on top left, earpiece and the usual sensor. The image also shows the new homescreen with Pixel launcher and the circular launcher icons.

For a quick recap, this year Google will ditch Nexus branding in favor of Pixel. Just like last year, Google will have two phones to unveil: Pixel and Pixel XL and both are built by HTC. The Google Pixel will reportedly have 5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB storage, 12MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, fingerprint scanner and 2770mAh battery. The larger Pixel XL will have similar specs as Pixel, but will feature 5.5-inch QHD display and 3450mAh battery. Prices start at $649 (Rs. 43,000) making them the most expensive smartphone released ever by Google.

Google's media streaming device Chromecast Ultra has a similar design as its predecessor, but it no longer sports the Chrome logo, instead has the 'G' logo. The upcoming Pixel phones are also expected to have 'G' logo. Chromecast Ultra will reportedly be capable to stream 4K contents from a smartphone to a HDMI-equipped display. It is expected to cost $69 (Rs. 5,000), which is double the cost of its predecessor ($35), due to the addition of 4K support.

Apart from Pixel phones and Chromecast Ultra, Google will finally release Google Home ($129), and introduce a wide range of products including Google WiFi, VR headset, Pixel 3 laptop & Nexus tablet running Andromeda (merged Android and Chrome OS).
