OnePlus to add VoLTE support for OnePlus 2 via OTA update next quarter

The OnePlus One, OnePlus 2, OnePlus X and OnePlus 3 supports 4G LTE, but only the OnePlus 3 has VoLTE support. Now OnePlus India has announced in its forum that it will roll out a software update, that will enable VoLTE on the OnePlus 2.

OnePlus in its forum said that it is working on enabling VoLTE support to OnePlus 2 phones, via an OTA software update in the next quarter.

Following the launch of Reliance Jio, which is operated on LTE networks with VoLTE support, the OnePlus forum has been flooded with users requesting for VoLTE support on their smartphone. “We’ve been keeping a close eye on forum discussions and noted the requests to enable VoLTE (Voice over LTE) or HD calling support on OnePlus smartphones,” said OnePlus in a post.

OnePlus however, has not plans to add VoLTE support to the OnePlus One and OnePlus X. Instead OnePlus is suggesting the users of these phones to use Jio4GVoice app ((formerly known as JioJoin) to make calls on Reliance Jio network.
