Redmi 3S Plus will reportedly be Xiaomi's first offline retail-only phone for India

In a bid to attract offline customers, Xiaomi is reportedly getting ready to unveil a new Redmi 3S variant dubbed Redmi 3S Plus, as its first offline retail-only smartphone in India.

The Redmi 3S Plus will be identical to the Redmi 3S prime in terms of design and specs, but will have 2GB RAM instead of 3GB. The handset is expected to carry an MRP of Rs. 9,499, and a best buy price of Rs. 8,799. For reference, the Redmi 3S is available online priced at Rs. 8,999.

According to the report, retailers across the country have already started receiving Redmi 3S Plus units and will go on sale starting tomorrow October 1.

Similar to Redmi 3S Prime, the Redmi 3 Plus will have 5-inch HD display, Snapdragon 430 SoC, 32GB inbuilt storage, 13MP/5MP cameras, fingerprint scanner, 4G LTE, MIUI 8 based Android Marshmallow and 4100mAh battery.

Xiaomi has been strengthening its offline presence in the country for the past couple of months. Earlier in July, the company teamed up with two distributors to expand offline sales in the country. However, this is the first time, Xiaomi is unveiling a smartphone for offline channels.
