iPhone 8 will reportedly feature glass front and back, stainless steel metal for premium models
It's hardly been a month since Apple launched iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and yet rumor mill have started buzzing about the next iPhones. Previous reports have claimed that big Apple is planning major changes to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of iPhones next year.
Now well known KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has released a report which reveals that 2017 iPhones will have glass front and back design, some thing in line with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s. It is also expected that Apple will opt for 2.5D curved glass display instead of fully curved 3D design. Kuo notes that Apple is going with black glass due to the popularity of jet black iPhone 7. Using glass instead of polished Aluminum will make the iPhones less prone to scratches.
Furthermore the report reveals that the 2017 iPhone will be enclosed in a metal casing, with the high end premium models likely to have stainless steel instead.
While we're still a long way from the 2017 iPhones release, all these reports are mere speculations, and have to be taken with a pinch of salt, however we can expect major changes with the next gen iPhones.. The 2017 iPhones are also rumored to have iris scanner and no home button.
