Sony Xperia C4, Xperia C4 Dual gets Android Marshmallow

Sony is rolling out Android Marshmallow update to its mid-range Xperia C4 and Xperia C4 Dual smartphones.

Currently, only the E5303 and E5306 Xperia C4 models (build number 27.3.A.0.122)  and the E533 and E5343 models of Xperia C4 Dual (build number 27.3.B.0.122) are getting the update. Sony is also expected to release the update to two more C4 series models — E5353 and E5363 — in coming days.

Xperia C4 (and Dual) users will now get new features like app permissions, Google Now on Tap, Doze Mode and more on their phone with the Marshmallow update.

The update most likely is being rolled out OTA in phases, and may take some time to hit your device. If you're not been notified yet, you can check it manually by going to settings > About Phone > Software Update.

To recap, Sony Xperia C4 (and Dual) launched last year running Android 5.0 Lollipop, and was marketed as a selfie expert phone at that time. The phone had 5-megapixel 25-wide angle Exmor R front snapper and 13MP rear camera. Other features include 5.5-inch 1080p display, octa-core MediaTek MT6752 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB inbuilt storage (expandable via microSD card), 4G LTE, NFC and 2600mAh battery. The launch price of Xperia C4 in India was Rs. 26,999, but it is now available for Rs. 19,999.
