Sony Xperia X, Xperia Z5 Premium gets massive price cut


Sony Mobile has announced a massive price cut of up to Rs. 10,000 on the Xperia X and Xperia Z5 Premium flagship smartphones.

The Xperia X that was launched in May for Rs. 48,990, has received Rs. 10,000 price cut and is now available for Rs. 38,990 (MRP). However, the phone is available in stores for as low as Rs. 36,900. The price of Xperia XA, that was launched along with Xperia X remains unchanged.

The Xperia Z5 Premium boasting 4K display that landed in India last October was selling for Rs. 55,999. Now it has received Rs. 8,000 price cut and is available for Rs. 47,990 (MRP). However it can be grabbed from stores for as low as 44,900.

To recap the specs, the Xperia X has 5-inch 1080 display, hexa-core Snapdragon 650 SoC, 3GB RAM, 64GB inbuilt storage, 23MP rear camera, 13MP selfie camera, hybrid dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, NFC, fingerprint scanner, Android Marshmallow and 2630mAh battery.

The Xperia Z5 Premium on the other hand offers 5.5-inch display, Snapdragon 810 SoC, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 23MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, fingerprint scanner, Android Lollipop (upgradable to Marshmallow) 4G LTE and 3430mAh battery.

Last week Sony unveiled Xperia XZ, their latest flagship, along with the 4.7-inch Xperia X Compact at IFA trade show in Berlin.
