Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus with Snapdragon 821 SoC, 6GB RAM, dual rear cameras goes official


In addition to the ultrasonic-fingerprint sensor toting Mi 5S, Xiaomi also unveiled Mi 5S Plus, a bigger version of Mi 5S with dual-rear cameras and more memory. It does not feature Qualcomm's ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, instead has the regular fingerprint sensor is at the back of the phone, below the camera.

The Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus has a 5.7-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by Snapdragon 821 processor coupled with Adreno 530 GPU. There are two models – one with 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage, and the other with 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage.

For photography, it gets 13-megapixel dual rear cameras with Sony sensor, one that captures in black and white and also has Dual image processor for processing the image captured using two sensor for the best quality shot. The rear camera features LED flash, PDAF and 4K video recording.

It has 4-megapixel selfie camera and is fueled by 3800mAh battery, and supports Quick Charge 3.0 technology as well. The rest of the specs are similar to Mi 5S including dual-SIM slots, 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11ac, NFC, USB Type-C, metal unibody design and MIUI 8 based Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The Xiaomi Mi 5S Plus comes in Gold, Dark Grey, Silver and Rose Gold colors. The 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage variant is priced at CNY 2299 ($344 | Rs. 23,000), while the 6GB RAM/ 128GB storage variants is priced CNY 2599 ($389 | Rs. 25,900). It will be available from September 30 in China.
