Gigabyte Brix mini desktops get Intel's Kaby Lake processor

Gigabyte is refreshing its Brix line of mini desktop with six new models featuring Intel's latest Kaby Lake processor. The latest Brix line up comes with the option of Intel Core i3-7100U, Core i5-7200U or Core i7-7500U processors.

The new Brix desktop comes in two different sizes: The smaller ones (GB-BKi3A-7100, GB-BVKi5A-7200, GB-BKi7A-7500) measure 4.7" x 4.4" x 1.4" and inside there's room only for an M.2 SDD, but there's no space for HDD or larger SSD drives.

The larger models (GB-BKi3HA-7100, GB-BKi5HA-7200, GB-BKi7HA-7500) measure 4.7" x 4.4" x 1.8" and have room for 2.5" HDD or M.2 SSD.

Each model comes with 2 x DDR4-2133 RAM slots, 2 x USB 3.0 ports, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, a USB 3.1 Type-A port, an HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort, a Gigabit Ethernet and audio jack. There's also support for WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless connectivity.

Just like previous Brix-series PCs, the new models will likely be sold as barebones system, which means you'll get a case, motherboard, processor and power supply, but you'll have to add your own RAM, storage and operating system. They also come with VESA mounting bracket for mounting purposes.

Currently the pricing and availability details are now known.
