Microsoft announces Surface Book i7 with better graphics, longer battery life


Microsoft has announced refreshed Surface Book laptop. Dubbed Surface Book i7, it offers double the graphics performance than the original model, and 30 percent longer battery life as well.

The Surface Book i7 features 13.5-inch (3000 x 2000 pixels) display, Intel's sixth gen Core i7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M GPU pushing 1.9 teraflops of graphic performance, 8MP/5MP camera a redesigned cooling system with an additional fan to keep the processor running at full strength and 16 hours of battery life.

The upgrades are packed into the existing Surface Book chassis, but is slight heavier than the original model weighing in at 3.63 pounds (1.64kg) compared to 3.48 pounds (1.57kg), most likely due to the bigger battery.

The Surface Book i7 will be available in 256GB/8GB, 512GB/16GB and 1TB/16GB storage/RAM configurations priced at $,2399, $2,799 and $3,299 respectively. It is up for pre-order from Microsoft.com and will be available on November 10.
