Official photos of MacBook Pro 2016 leaked, shows OLED touch panel

Apple is holding an event this week to announce a new MacBook Pro. Multiple reports have claimed that the new laptop will feature a new touchscreen OLED toolbar above the keyboard. Now it appears that the claims were true.

MacRumors has uncovered some official photos of the MacBook Pro in the latest macOS sierra update. The photos shows an OLED touch panel above the keyboard, replacing the function key. Also seen is a Touch ID fingerprint sensor on the extreme right of the touch panel.

The touch panel, reportedly called 'Magic Toolbar' will display button, shortcuts and messages when appropriate. As for the Touch ID, it is also built into the OLED panel which apart from unlocking/authenticating function, will also have Apple Pay functionality as well to make payments.

The photos also indicates that MacBook Pro will have slimmer bezels, a flatter keyboard and house speaker grilles on either sides.

Other rumors of the MacBook Pro include improved display, Intel's sixth-gen Skylake processor and USB Type-C port instead of regular-sized USB ports as well as MagSafe and Thunderbolt 2.

The Apple event is scheduled for Thursday, October 27 at 10:00am PT (10:30pm IST).
