Samsung Galaxy S8 will have slick design and improved camera


After the Galaxy Note7 fiasco, Samsung is betting everything on its upcoming Galaxy S8 flagship to overcome the losses occurred and regain consumer confidence. The South Korean tech giant at its earning call promised that the Galaxy S8 will have new design and innovative feature. Just a day ago, possible specs of Galaxy S8 was leaked online.

Now a Samsung executive has revealed more information about Galaxy S8. Lee Kyeong-tae, Samsung's VP of Mobile Communications told the Wall Street Journal that the company's upcoming Galaxy flagship will sport s "slick design" along with an "improved camera"

In addition he also revealed that Galaxy S8 will come with "an enhanced artificial intelligence service", which could be a result of Samsung's recent acquisition of U.S based AI software company Viv Labs who also developed Apple's Siri digital voice assistant. This coincides with recent report that indicated the S Voice on Galaxy S8 will be replaced by Viv AI assistant.

As per earlier report, Galaxy S8 will be the first smartphone to boast optical fingerprint recognition technology. With this technology, the fingerprint sensor will be embedded inside the display itself, instead of placing it on the home button. It is also being said the Samsung will ditch the home button for Galaxy S8, and the device will have curved edges on top and bottom in addition to left and right sides for a full screen curved look.

The rumored specs of Galaxy S8 include 5.5-inch 4K Super AMOLED curved display, suitable for VR, Snapdragon 830/Samsung's Exynos 8895 10nm processor, 6GB or 8GB RAM, 16MP rear camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to unveiled at MWC 2017 in February and hit the market in March.
