Samsung Galaxy S8 will reportedly come in 5.7-inch and 6.2-inch variants with an edge display

According to a new report emerging from Korea, Samsung's upcoming flagship Galaxy S8 will be launched in two variants – one with 5.7-inch display and the other with a bigger 6.2-inch display carrying model number SM-G950 and SM-G955 respectively.

To refresh the Galaxy S7 also arrived in two versions as well this year – the flat screened model with 5.1-inch display and the edge model with 5.7-inch display. However, the report suggests that both Galaxy S8 models will have curved display, so there will not be flat screen model like the Galaxy S7.

In addition, the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8 model will have same internal as the 5.7-inch model, and will be called Galaxy S8 Plus. The bigger display will potentially attract former Galaxy Note7 users who prefer bigger screen.

In-line with earlier rumors, the report further mentions that the Galaxy S8 will have a bezel-less design or edge-to-edge display. To achieve this Samsung will have to ditch the home button and capacitive navigation buttons in favor of on-screen ones.

Earlier this week, a report suggested that Galaxy S8 will have a dedicated button for its new AI assistant, rumored to be called Bixby. Other rumored specs of Galaxy S8 include Qualcomm Snapdragon 830/Exynos 8895 SoC, 6GB RAM, IP68 certification, optical fingerprint sensor underneath the display, dual rear camera setup.

Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy S8 will be unveiled in Q3 2017, with rumor pointing at MWC 2017 in February.
