Xiaomi announces 4K ready Mi Box 3c, Mi Box 3s smart TV box

Xiaomi is refreshing its Mi Box line of smart TV box with two new models ― Mi Box 3c and Mi Box 3s ― featuring 4K video playback, AI based UI called PatchWall, and a new Mi Touch IR Remote control (only 3s model).

The Mi Box 3s is the higher end of the two powered by quad-coreAmlogic S905X 64-bit processor with 2GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. It runs Android Marshmallow, supports HDR images and has HDMI 2.0a port.

The Mi Box 3c on the other hand is a less beefy version featuring qad-core Amlogic S905 processor, 1gB RAM, 4GB storage and HDMI 2.0. It runs Android Lollipop and comes with a basic infrared remote control.

Both TV boxes support WiFi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1, USB 2.0 and Dolby and DTS decoding. Xiaomi says that PatchWall AI learns users viewing habits and offers content based on their liking.

The Xiaomi Mi Box 3c and Mi Box 3s are priced at CNY 199 ($29 | Rs. 1,965) and CNY 299 ($43 | Rs. 3,000) respectively and will go on sale in China from November 22.
